Upgrading Your Skills (Everquest guides)

December 31st, 2009

I haven’t seen this posted yet on the boards but I thought it was worth putting up as it took me awhile to figure out this system.

You can upgrade the skills/spells that you are granted by going to a scribe or a trainer and purchasing scrolls. These scrolls are pretty cheap and will upgrade your initial skill level "apprentice I" to "apprentice II". For spell casters find the scribe and for fighters/scouts find the trainer who is usually in the same place. To locate them just bring up your map (press "m") and find the icon that is the paper and quill which will say "scribe" if you roll over it and head over there. Once there talk to the trainer or scribe and purchase skill/spell upgrades as desired. To actually initiate the upgrade go to your inventory and right click on the pieces of paper your just bought and click the "scribe" button. This will upgrade the appropriate skill.

I don’t think you can purchase new skills this way, this only works to upgrade your existing skills. This has only been tested through level 10, not sure where you get upgrades beyond that but I imagine there is a class specific place to purchase them and I think there are quests at high levels to attain them.
