Race Dwarf (Eq2 antonica)

May 25th, 2008

Dwarves are extremely stout, tough, thick headed warriors who far outlive all the other races of EQ2. Their stubborness is tempered by their wisdom however, which comes from living for centuries in the EQ2 world. Generation after generation pass down great crafting and fighting skills from generation to generation.

Their compact, yet extremely broad and sturdy bodies allow dwarves to possess a natural strength far greater than most other races in EQ2, making them an excellent tank or solo character at lower levels. Many Dwarves in Fantasy Lore also choose to become clerics (or priests in EQ2) healing their own kind, and other goodly folk.

EQ2 stays true to this fantasy tradition, and makes the two most favorable professions for the Dwarven race that of fighters and priests. A Dwarven priest with a sturdy club or axe makes for a formidable opponent in hand to hand combat, or casting spells from a distance.

Much like Hobbits, Dwarves are quintessential "good" characters in Fantasy Lore, therefore Dwarves may only inhabit Qeynos the city of the "good". Also, fully expect the vast majority of serious artisans in the game to be Dwarves. In pretty much every Fantasy yarn spun over the past hundred years, Dwarves are known for being excellent craftsmen.

Much like Dark Elves, the Dwarven race inhabits caves just below the surface of the earth. For this reason, they’ve developed a keen sense of sight in dark places. EQ2 grants Dwarves a special skill called "Ultravision", keeping in line with Fantasy lore.

If you’re looking for a solid fighter, adequate priest, or just a pissed off Danny Devito clone with a huge axe……you can’t go wrong with the Dwarven race.
