Increasing Crafting Rank (Eq2 spell)
March 11th, 2010This might be obvious, but I went from rank 1125 to rank 60 in a few minutes in the crafting guild, PLUS you usually make money.
1) Get a quest from the 1st guy in tradeskill instance.
2) Turn around and look on the vendor. The quests are usually gather 15 iron clusters, tuber strands, average pelts, etc. You can usually find these things on the vendor pretty cheap.
3) turn back around and talk to the quest guy again.
The reward is 12 silver which means if you buy the items for less than 80c each, not only did you get status points, but you also make money. The only one of these that ever cause problems is the pelts. they usually run high, but you can recoup the extra cost really quick. Even better is to do it with a friend. That way if you have any items already, you just trade them with the friend …one at a time (6 in a trade)… and do the quests without spending any money. To trade 6, you have to spread them out in your own inventory, then transfer them to the trade window. And remember…CNTL drag pulls one from the stack without going through the slider.
Easy Money, Must Be Evil (Eq2 quest guide)
March 9th, 2010You must be to do this evil. Start a good char it doesnt matter which name you pick but make sure you make him on the same server as you evil character. talk to the ambassdor on isle of refugee to quickly get off. Go to NettvileHovel and talk to Vida for the Vida needs a new broom quest if you don't know where she is right click a guard select find NPC and type in Vida. She tells you to go speak with Tawli Whiskwind in Baubbleshire. She can be located on the east side of Baubbleshire.Once you have spoken to her go back to Vida. She gives you a reward called a dusty blue stone. These sel for 2-8 gold on broker in freeport. Start another good character and do the quest keep making as many chars u need to and keep repeating. After you done give all the stone to your 1st good char you made in the shared bank slots and delete all the other good chars you made. Now comes the hard part get a friend or guildmate to transfer all these stones from your good char to your evil char. Now sell the stones, by the way you might want to keep one becuase its start to weakened ghoulbane quest and the weakened ghoulbane can get you ghoulbane a very powerful weapon. This takes a bit of time but ive found its well worth it. Good luck!
Race Dwarf (Buy Eq2 Gold)
March 8th, 2010Dwarves are extremely stout, tough, thick headed warriors who far outlive all the other races of EQ2. Their stubborness is tempered by their wisdom however, which comes from living for centuries in the EQ2 world. Generation after generation pass down great crafting and fighting skills from generation to generation.
Their compact, yet extremely broad and sturdy bodies allow dwarves to possess a natural strength far greater than most other races in EQ2, making them an excellent tank or solo character at lower levels. Many Dwarves in Fantasy Lore also choose to become clerics (or priests in EQ2) healing their own kind, and other goodly folk.
EQ2 stays true to this fantasy tradition, and makes the two most favorable professions for the Dwarven race that of fighters and priests. A Dwarven priest with a sturdy club or axe makes for a formidable opponent in hand to hand combat, or casting spells from a distance.
Much like Hobbits, Dwarves are quintessential "good" characters in Fantasy Lore, therefore Dwarves may only inhabit Qeynos the city of the "good". Also, fully expect the vast majority of serious artisans in the game to be Dwarves. In pretty much every Fantasy yarn spun over the past hundred years, Dwarves are known for being excellent craftsmen.
Much like Dark Elves, the Dwarven race inhabits caves just below the surface of the earth. For this reason, they've developed a keen sense of sight in dark places. EQ2 grants Dwarves a special skill called "Ultravision", keeping in line with Fantasy lore.
If you're looking for a solid fighter, adequate priest, or just a pissed off Danny Devito clone with a huge axe……you can't go wrong with the Dwarven race.

Welcome to the exciting return of EQual Perspective, the podcast that talks about Everquest II. Each episode is hosted by Troy and Karen, with special guest appearances from players and designers.
This week on the show we get caught up on what our characters have been doing in Norrath and then jump right into discussions on the new Battlegrounds expansion, WoE looting, Shards and the tiring grind, and finally talking a bit of Guild talk.
EQual Perspectives #7
Welcome to the new EQual Perspectives with you returning host Troy, and with his new official cohost Karen. The duo tackled Vanguard for more than 8 episodes of the Voyages of Vanguard and now they are together again with EQual Perspectives. This week show has been in the making for more than three weeks and shows its age during the news segment of the show, but with the holiday season around it was a bit difficult to put the show together.
Karen talks about her 70th level monk character; while Troy talks about his dozen toons and laments on his hectic approach on trying to keep all his characters with top notch spell and gear. The two talk about getting back into the game, and revel in the newest expansion Rise of Kunark. This episode is about getting up to speed in Everquest II and what both want to accomplish.
Everquest II news is a bit dated but most of the events are still going on for the next several days: Rejoice! Karen talks about all the holiday fun, while Troy bemoans his boredom to the whole holiday quest.
We also welcome Beau Turkey onto EQual Perspectives and he delights us with his talks of collecting.
How To Craft In EQ2 (EQ2 Craft)
March 5th, 2010I am writing this as i have not seen anyone make a post about crafting in EQ2 that is any more than a very basic crafting guide.
I was able to get to level 10 crafting in about 2-4 hours. This was about my third time through as i did it in beta and once more with my main, so by the time i got to my alt it was fairly quick. I am not going to go into how to get the resources that is fairly basic and any info you may need about this is in the manual.
General Crafting Tips
You will have 27 different symbols or buffs that you can use to counteract things when you are crafting, there will be three per type of crafting.
If you mouse over the recipe in you book it will tell you what type of crafting it is which will lead you to the proper responses for the type of crafting.
If you wish to level quickly never make the same thing twice.
You recieve almost double the exp the first time you make something, so if it gives you 20% normally the first time you make it you would get 40%
The harder the item is for you to make the more exp you will get.
You will get more exp for a pristine item compared to a shaped item.
Use at least one buff per roll, there are usually two buffs that use very little power and one that uses a fair ammount.
Level's 1 - 9
If you are going to be a serious crafter you will complete up to level 9 on the Isle of Refuge. . Therefore at these low level's with so many recipies unless you are making something you want to use you can gain more exp by creating different things and level yourself faster. You can gain a level by making two or three pieces of elm furniture each level, or anything else you may wish to make.
These levels go quickly
Level's 10 - 19
You will recieve three new buffs, try them out but compare them to your old one's for the first few levels you may do better with the original buffs.
When you reach level 12 or sometimes earlir you are able to learn the books from the other three proffesions, ie if you took scholar you can learn the outfitter book and crafstman level 10 books.
Here you have chosen your specialty and are working towards your last specialization. For each level from now on you will recieve fewer new recipies however always try to make one of each item for every level for that exp bonus. For the first few levels you will be able to level by making one of each item or not even all of them. By level 17 it starts to become a bit of a grind. however once you reach 20 you get the reward of your final specialization and can start to make some good money.
Level's 20 and beyond …
Here is where crafting get's expensive and much more difficult, crafting becomes much more interdependent on other crafting proffesions. You will need items from many other crafting proffessions that you cannot make yourself.
Hope this helps people who were looking to get going in the crafting buisness.
Fun Big Head Trick (Eq2 heritage quests)
March 2nd, 2010There is an unknown command in everquest 2 that is there for an unknown reason.
Typing /cutemode in game will turn your characters head to a large size when in game. It is only viewable by the person who types it and you will see yourself and everyone with large heads where everyone will see you as normal.
EQual Perspectives #9 (Everquest guide)
March 1st, 2010
Troy and Karen return for episode number 9 of EQual Perspectives. After a mysterious introduction, the duo talk about their sponsor: www.mmotreasurehunt.com. Troy then thanks Beau Turkey for his great segments that he keeps sending in. The hosts then tackle a slew of email, with a special one from Grimwell! Troy and Karen often think of being mad MMO scientists, and what MMOstien would they create? Troy is happy to announce that there is a good base of listener to the show, and he looks forward to increasing the listeners of the show.
Karen and Troy then tackle two big subjects for the show: Contents & Group and Everquest 2 Epics. The two each have their own opinions on what can be done to increase grouping and what would be the best line of epic gear for the game.
Finally, Beau Turkey talks about his problem — too many alts!
Listen and enjoy.

EQual Perspectives #2 (Everquest 2 CD Key)
February 27th, 2010
This week Eric, Joe, and Troy continue with this discussion on Everquest and Everquest II. Eric and Troy first talk about the news of Everquest, followed by information of Legends Of Norrath. the two continue with discussion of progressive servers and ideas of creating new servers to attract more players, and talk of flagging for the Frost Crypt and Timeworm Leggings and other uber gear. Eric describes his quest for the Warp Portal Necklace and ends with tactics for solo, grouping, and raiding. Eric and Troy talk about the Hot Zones, for Everquest. Eric wraps things up with his rants of server patches and a way to detail flagging. Joe and Troy talk about Everquest II (starting at 1 hour and 7 minutes into the program) and continue their tales with Bullywug and Lillipad. Later, the two decide to re-roll their characters and make a pair of ratonga in the new starting city of Nariak. This time around they play a bruiser and a defiler and regain quickly the levels they lost from the re-roll.
